Given that the 25th Anniversary is technically over, it is probably time for a new thread.

Tiger Force Flint: This is one of those blatantly obvious recolors. Just as the original TF Flint as a straight recolor of the 1985 Flint figure, this TF Flint is a straight recolor of the 25A Flint. Flint is one of the few cases where the original toy from 20+ years ago is actually a bit better than the current one. The modern face sculpt on 25A and neo-TF Flint actually has less character and detail than the old one. Additionally, the proportions on the body are a bit off, making his torso look a bit elongated. (In fairness, a number of early 25A figures have this problem. But, elements of Flint's design really bring it out.)
Grade: C Buy it if you like the character or a a completist. (Flint is one of my favorites, and I still waited for a sale.)

Tiger Force Duke: This is mostly a straight recolor of the 25A Duke mold. But, for whatever reason, (mostly likely the sheer number of Duke figures cast from the 25A mold), there is a fair amount of new tooling on this figure. the arms are the most obvious difference. Unlike the original 25A figure, with a rotation/connection point at the wrists, these arms have a rotation/connection point closer to the elbows. For whatever reason, this kind of jointing comes loose more easily, making conversions easier. (Of course, the fact it makes customizing easier does not cover the fact it is a sign of bad engineering.) This new TF Duke features weapons that more closely resemble the original figures. 25A Duke had a generic backpack and the generic rifle commonly seen in the old cartoons. This new Duke has a gun that is either cast from the same mold as the original, (from 84), or is at least very similar. Similarly, the backpack very closely resembles the original 1984 piece, though with a new connector plug. Finally, TF Duke's binoculars more closely evoke the original's binoculars than the first 25A figure's did. While the molding is more faithful to the original TF Duke, the coloring is not . The original TF Duke had brown hair, (in contrast to the character's signature light hair), while the neo-TF Duke has light hair.
Grade: B Duke figures are a bit tiresome at this point, but this one has a enough interesting details to be worth a look. If not for the relative scarcity of the case-wave with this figure, it would rate higher.

-still has to review several other figures, plus the MASS Device.....

Keep it local.
