City Strike Snake Eyes:
This is one of those figures that is desirable partly for its rarity, and partly for filling out a cancelled line.

The rarity is likely accounted for by the case assortment City Strike Snake Eyes is part of. (I forget the exact break down, but I think CS Snake Eyes is one of the only new/desirable figure in a wave of repacks.)

Most people agree that City Strike Snake Eyes is cast from molding intended for "Resolute" Snake Eyes. There is less stylistic difference between "GI Joe" movie figures and earlier lines than there is with "Transformers", meaning it is easier to use older molds to fill out the movie line.

The molding and details on City Strike Snake Eyes are just different enough from the other movie figures that it seems very likely this figure was intended to be part of "Resolute". (It almost looks like somebody shrunk a "Sigma 6" figure down to the 4 inch scale.)

Newer movie figures seem to be replacing the cumbersome spring-loaded weapons with other typs of accessories. Snake Eyes is packaged with a large back pack with climbing hooks attached. The hooks can be arranged so as to suspend and/or slide the figure between two points.

While the large back pack adds play value to the toy, it hinders the figure in other ways. Besides being large, (and thus over-balancing), it prevents other pieces from being attached to the figure as it blocks the connection points. (One of those pieces, a belt-pouch, does not attach well in any case.)

And, (at least on my copy), the hands pop out of the wrist sockest very easily.)

Grade: B/C
Not a great figure. Not the best Snake Eyes figure ever. But, worth picking up if you can find one for less than $10.

Keep it local.
